2019 GENERAL ELECTION INFORMATION
POSITIONS ARE FOR MAYOR AND TWO (2) ALDERPERSONS
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
January 17 – Council meeting to order the election. Candidates may file for place on ballot.
Any resident interested should call Village office at 512-280-3898.
January 18 – Post notice of election.
February 15 – Final day to file application for place on ballot.
February 19 – Final day for write-in candidate to file declaration.
February 22 – First day election may be cancelled.
February 22 – Final day for candidate to withdraw from ballot. Final day to remove ineligible candidate from ballot.
February 22 – Final day for write-in candidate to withdraw from list.
March 20 – First day to mail early ballots.
April 4 – Last day to register to vote in the election.
April 15 – Post 72-hour notice of drawing for order of names on ballot.
April 18 – Drawing for order of names on ballot.
Need to appoint three (3) residents as election officials: 1) to act as election judge, 2) to act as alternate judge and clerk, 3) to act as clerk.
April 4 – 24 – Publish election notice in newspaper.
April 19 – Final day to receive application from voter in person for a ballot to vote by mail.
April 22 – First day for early voting in person.
April 23 – Final day to receive application from voter by mail for a ballot to vote by mail.
April 30 – Final day for early voting in person.
May 4 – ELECTION DAY.
7:00 p.m. deadline for early voting ballots through mail. Voting hours are 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Community Center at 11906 Sleepy Hollow.
May 12 – Post 72-hour notice for meeting to canvass election.
May 15 – Canvass the election.
